ABOUT THE HERBS:
St John’s Wort: Harvested fresh from my garden, Hypericum perforatum is a sunny ally that blooms around the summer solstice, carrying the energy of the sun within it’s medicine to be used year round. This herb is our star player in this blend as it restores, calms, and feeds the nervous system, uplifts one’s mood, and has been studied for effectively treating mild to moderate depression. It has many other affinities such as offering pain relief, digestive aid, wound healing, to name a few.
Lemon Balm: Melissa officinalis is a soothing herb renowned for its ability to calm the mind and ease anxiety. It helps to reduce stress, uplift mood, and promote relaxation, making it a perfect addition to this mood boosting formula.
Schisandra: Schisandra chinensis is a superior Traditional Chinese Medicine herb known as the five taste berry, which indicates that it works on every organ. It strengthens and tonifies Qi, bringing deep vitality and resiliency. By tonifying the HPA axis and liver, Schisandra targets metabolic deficient conditions such as chronic fatigue, stress and lack of endurance/stamina.
Rhodiola: An adaptogenic powerhouse, Rhodiola rosea helps combat fatigue, boost immunity, and build more strength in the nervous system to better carry the day to day stressors. A stimulating, cardioprotective, aphrodisiac ally, Rhodiola helps to circulates the blood, regulates heart health and keep energy levels moderated.
Ginger: Zingiber officinalis is our driver in this blend. A warming digestive aid, driving the medicines deeper into the body and bringing more circulation throughout.
Licorice: Glycyrrhiza glabra is another revered herb in TCM, commonly used as an adrenal and immune tonic. It’s use in this formula acts as a harmonizer, as it is known to “synergize all of the herbs in a given formula and promote their even distribution.”
